(Cabins, gift shop and historic Glen-Isle Hotel Museum) This National Historic Place (since 1985) is located 1 and 3/10s miles south of Bailey, Colorado, directly on Highway 285 and the Platte River. If traveling south on Hwy. 285, Glen-Isle is located just past the Coney Island Hot Dog Stand and will be located on the left hand side of the highway. Look for the orange Glen-Isle sign and turn onto the bridge, over the Platte River. The lodge was built in 1900 and features modern, yet rustic cabins that sleep from 2 to 10 people. Most cabins contain fully equipped kitchens with private baths, linens, gas heat, and fireplaces with wood provided. There are two wonderful gift shops, a game room with ping pong and billiards, board games, darts, playground, horseshoes, fishing, hiking, library, porch swings, etc. This resort is situated at 7,800 feet above sea level, 50 miles southwest of Denver near many points of interest.
