Gjøvik Kjøreskole, senere Gjøvik Trafikkskole A/S, ble startet i 1948 av Eigil Valle.
Svigersønnen, Helge Holst, begynte i 1969, og kjøpte skolen sammen med sin kone i 1978..
.
Trafikkskolen ble etter hvert en av landets største trafikkskoler..
Allerede i 1971 anskaffet skolen automatgiret bil med diverse ekstra utstyr for opplæring av bevegelseshemmede.
Dette førte med seg opplæring på spesialbiler med bl.a.
"joy-stick".
Opplæringen av bevegelseshemmede har i alle år foregått i nært samarbeide med Sunnaas, andre rehabiliteringssentere og Hjelpemiddelsentralene.
Gjøvik Trafikkskole opparbeidet seg således en meget bred kompetanse på dette området..

Roger Kristiansen har hatt dett faglig ansvarlig for trafikkopplæringen på Gjøvik Trafikkskole i over 20 år.

Bil og mc-opplæring har Gjøvik Trafikkskole drevet med i over 50 år og fullstendig opplæring frem til førerbevis på moped og mopedbil..

Brita og Helge Holst solgte skolen til tre av de ansatte i 2000.
Skolen ble da drevet under ledelse av Roger Kristiansen som ble ansatt ved Gjøvik Trafikkskole i 1979 fram til 2008..

Januar 2017 er Daniel Kolby daglig leder og eier for skolen.
Skolen har 12 ansatte og underviser i klassene A, A1, A2, AM 146, B, BE, B96, B automat samt trafikalt grunnkurs.
Vi er også kvalifiserte til Eco driving kurs og handikap undervisning.
