Detailed description is TEODORA is now 1 year and 8 months old! Her first 3 surgeries in USA were a big success, THANKS to YOU and To GREAT GOD!. GIANT MELANOCYTIC NEVUS. . . Theodora Nectaria Serbanescu is born on 5th of november 2013, in Bucharest, Romania.. . She is the 3rd child of Serbanescu family and she is loved so much by her parents, her big sisters and gran-parents, alots of friends and angels that are beside her.. . She is born with a very rare skin disease, named GIANT CONGENITAL MELANOCYTIC NEVUS that in time may present risk of MELANOMA and NEUROLOGICAL PROBLEMS.. . Giant congenital nevus form in the womb very early in development, within the first twelve weeks of pregnancy. They are caused by a defect during embryologic development. There is no known method of prevention. They appear in either sex, in all races, and on any areas of the skin. . . Pigmented areas have been linked to melanoma, a potentially deadly skin cancer. Also, certain children with large nevi may have melanin, melanocytes and/or nevomelanocytes in their central nervous systems (the brain and spinal cord). This condition is known as neurocutaneous melanocytosis (melanosis) (NCM). Most people with NCM do not have neurological problems. However, some do, and the complications from NCM can be very serious.. . In order to avoid and prevent these potential risks we searched for help and support from Experts Doctors and we find the answers to our prayers soon!. . Dr Bruce Bauer, an angel sent by God to cure and protect our special children, gives us the chance that Theodora to become a normal and healthy child.We must go to Chicago, USA, where he expects us starting with 21st of april, this spring.. . He will start a process of surgeries for skin transplant and nevus removal, that will last until the age of 8-10 years old of our daughter.. . From now, we have a schedule for the first 2 surgeries that will start in may ( expanders implant on 2nd of may 2014 ) and after 12 weeks will be the 2nd surgery ( excision/ partial nevus removal and skin transplant on 18th of July 2014 ) and will be finished on july, the first round.. . We are from Romania and to make this tripp happen and to give this unique chance to our daughter costs us estimative 37,000$, a big amount of money that we can't afford to pay from our savings.. . We managed to raise funds for Theodora from people with big heart that donated money in her bank accounts, here, open to Transilvania Bank, in our city - OTOPENI. We managed to save until this day almost 16,000$ but we need to apply for USA visa and the time is short, as we have our first appointment on april 21st 2014.. . Who wants and can help our Theodora, please do that and you all are in our prayers and may God gives you health and protection! . . We need minimum 18 - 20,000$ to save and after that to apply for visa and to prove that we can pay for the surgeries and support our life there during the almost 4 months that we must stay in Chicago, USA.. . With the help of Dr Bauer's team and Ronald McDonald's House we have accomodationd and food for free! Thank you all for that! So we must not pay for our staying there, but the food, diapers, medicines and transport we must have money.. . The costs of first 2 surgeries are estimate to 30,000$. . . We will attach all documents, bank accounts and schedule for starting process.. . After the first 3 surgeries that Teodora went thrue last year, in April 2014, July 2014 and this year, in January 8th, she is doing very good! Thank God and thank people and angels that helped us to start these procedures in order to save our daughter!. . Now, next surgeries will be next year, in 2016. At that time, Dr Bruce S. Bauer and his extraordinary team will remove what is left from the giant nevus on her head and ear and he will reconstruct Teodora's right ear, that now is covered with nevus and is malformated.. Next year she will need 4 or 5 surgeries, hopefully the last of this process! These surgeries are estimated somewhere over the 60.000$, wich we have to raise until that time, June or July 2016, so we have one year!. . PLEASE HELP US and HELP TEODORA!. .
