Born in Darby, raised in Ridley and attending university in Chester, George William Siter III (often just goes by George Siter) has spent his entire life in Delaware County. The Siter’s (wife of 11 years Nicole and their three children Meryn 8, Leah 5 and George 1) fell in love with the Middletown / Media / Ridley Creek State Park area and had their dream house built in Glen Mills in 2013, moving in a week before Thanksgiving. . . George attended Widener University and while there was a four year starter and Team Captain for the baseball team, Athletic 1st team All-MAC Conference 1998 and Academic All-MAC Conference in 1999 and 2000. After graduating from Widener University in 2000 with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, George started his professional career as a Marketing Coordinator at Comcast Spectacor, owner and operator of the Philadelphia Flyers and 76ers. In 2003 George joined Rita’s Water Ice Franchise Company serving in various marketing capacities during his five years with the company. In 2008 George left Rita’s to join DFC Global Corp, an international financial services company based in Malvern, where he has served in a variety of roles including Product Manager, Marketing Director and Director of North American e-Commerce. During his tenure at Rita’s and DFC, George returned to Widener University to pursue a Master’s in Business Administration, which he completed in 2011. He is currently the Director of Product & Partnership at DFC, overseeing a $100M annual revenue portfolio. . . George has also been very actively involved with the Middletown Coalition for Community Safety, serving as an active member from the beginning of its formation in August 2016. He attended one of the very first community meetings, joined the Steering Board shortly thereafter and now also serves on the MCCS Leadership Team. This community involvement was the turning point for George’s interest in running for Township Council. . . What do you hope to achieve when you win? . • Get voices on council that won't be afraid to vote for what is right for this township, regardless of external pressures (ex. vote no to easements for Mariner 2) . • Encourage Council to consistently make informed decisions (voting yes to Mariner 2 was clearly not an informed decision) . • Communicate effectively to residents regarding key decisions that will impact residents BEFORE deciding on how to vote . • Protect this community from irresponsible development from corporations that do not share our interest in protecting our lands, our water, our children . • Prepare Middletown for the next phase of growth (new town center, new homes, new road improvements)
