We,(my wife Nancy and ) thought we wanted to retire, and we did. I was an electrician and Nancy has been a jewelry designer. After sitting around for a few months (which we did not like), I decided to go back to school for Metalsmithing. After many classes, I grew a love for the craft and started making rings, pendents, and jewelry of all kinds. Starting with a plain rock, a sheet of Sterling Silver, silver wire, a few tools and a lot of equipment, the end piece is very fulfilling. . . After three years of jewelry-making, my grandson C.J (at the time age 10) started working with me. We love to work together and he has become very educated and good at selecting rocks and helping me make the beautiful pieces. His younger sister, Bella, sparked an interest in the business at age 6 and is now working with my wife Nancy on the creation of Dichroic glass jewelry. They both join us at art shows; and at times, they out sell me. C.J used to say, "Papa, if you wear a tie, you would sell more." . . I now have a home studio where I spend a lot of time making all of my jewelry. They are each unique, original designs. Most of them start with a natural rock. The stone is cut, designed, cut again, ground on 5 diamond wheels, and polished. Now it is a Cabachon. Next a Sterling Silver Bezel is hand-made to fit and soon after your beautiful piece is complete! . . You would be amazed with the amount of rocks I have collected thru the years.
