Lebanon is an upscale shopping mall located in the southern Pittsburgh suburb of Mt.
Lebanon.It opened on the corner of Washington Rd.
(U.S.
19) and Gilkeson Rd.
in 1964 as a Kaufmann's department store with 250000sqft of interior retail space.
In 1988, the building was converted into a 62-space shopping mall after Kaufmann's moved into the former Gimbels department store building at nearby South Hills Village.The mall was renovated in 2003 to revive the center, which was losing stores due to the competition of South Hills Village less than a mile away.
