Detailed description is We are a non-profit dedicated to creating an autobiography of the famous Zuni artist Alex Seowtewa. Alex Seowtewa, in keeping with the tradition of the Zuni Pueblo tribe has spent his artistic career documenting the religious figures of the Zuni Pueblo. Alex primarily works with oil paints to create murals consisting of life size Kachinas on representations of sacred local landscapes. Alex’s life’s work can be found on the walls of Zuni’s Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. . . Alex’s rendering of these murals encourages a better understanding of Zuni religion for local residents as well as people of other cultures. Alex himself is a cultural ambassador representing America and the Zuni Pueblo in places as far away as Russia.
