Detailed description is We are the FCS equestrian riding team for girls grades 7-12 to train in the sport of English riding. No need to own a horse! They are provided for them! All girls on the team would be member of USEF (United States Equestrian Federation) and would gain points when winning at rated shows. They would also be able to earn their Letter in sports from the school as well as from USEF provided that they attend at least 3 shows a year. We will also be members of the IEA, competing against other high school teams.. -Dressage riders will be able to work toward earing their medals in Dressage (Bronze, Silver and Gold). - Girls would be able to earn scholarships to schools and have the opportunity to gain national attention by competing, thus setting them up for further success when going on to compete at the Collegiate level. (Our current Local College Fresno State has a very successful and sought after equestrian team.). -Girls will also learn skills that may be used in the future to further their education or help lead them into careers in the equestrian world.. -Girls on our team would follow the same basic principles of Pony Club:. Horsemanship with respect to healthcare, nutrition, stable management, handling and riding a mount safely, correctly and with confidence . . Organized teamwork including cooperation, communication, responsibility, leadership, mentoring, teaching and fostering a supportive yet competitive environment . . Respect for the horse and self through horsemanship and for others through service and teamwork . . Service by providing an opportunity for members, parents, and others to support the Equestrian Team program locally, regionally and nationally through volunteerism.. . Clinics with outside trainers will be scheduled at regular intervals, giving the girls access to top professionals in the industry and greatly furthering their education with top professionals in their field.. . Program for Equestrian Team:. The JV Team will be structured to develop future talent for the Varsity Team for girls with limited riding experience. They will receive the same education, meet the at the same practices and will show. However, they will only attend local schooling shows.. Varsity Team will be girls who show current skill and talent for showing. All girls regardless of which team they are on will be taught all aspects of horse care, management and skills under saddle. The Varsity team will show out of town, and against other schools.. . Opportunities for Horse Crazy girls with no experience:. Girls that have no prior horse experience, but possess a love for horses may volunteer to be grooms and earn a spot on the JV team and eventually varsity. They will travel with varsity to all shows and will assist the Coach(s).. This is where we are providing a quiet and professional base for our girls to learn and train. It features miles of trails, a 325x150 sand, lighted and irrigated arena, as well 5 stall barn with wash racks, tack room, paddocks and irrigated pastures, changing rooms and bathrooms.
