That’s right Fort Knox, we not only have programs to support active military, DOD civilians, retirees and contractors, but we also have an array of family programs as well. Family programs consist of fishing derbies, family campouts, and day hikes to name a few. All programs provided are open to any age group and are welcome to beginners, intermediate and advanced skill level participants. Fort Knox Adventure Programs staff will instruct, facilitate, and lead the largest collection of outdoor skills to those interested. . FKAP is bigger and better this year with a wide range of outdoor adventures, clinics and program specific courses such as Women of the Wilderness (WOW). Women of the Wilderness is a one month course which meets once a week for four weeks. This program was designed to spike spouse’s interest in the outdoors. WOW classes will teach basic outdoor skills including overnight camping, leave no trace (LNT) principles, backcountry cooking, and adventure pursuits. Women of the wilderness give ladies the chance to participate, lead, and learn in an outdoor adventure setting while the men stay at home..
