The Fort Belvoir Professional Firefighters Local F273 was established by the International Association of Firefighters on October 18th, 1992 with 24 founding members.
The Local has expanded and grown since the early days as the Department has grown.
Today we represent firefighters, Firefighter/Medics and Fore Marshals of the Fort Belvoir Fire and Emergency Services.

Since the beginning Local F273 has worked tirelessly to better the health, welfare and safety of its members as well as increase the fire protection of the garrison.
Local F273 was instrumental in securing funds from Congress during the 2009 Base Realignment and Closure for two fire stations and the staffing needed to man those stations.
One of those stations represented an increase of the fire protection by adding an additional Engine and Truck company to the Garrison.
The Officers of F273 strive to work along side Fort Belvoir Fire and Emergency Services leadership to meet the Department's values and mission statement.
