The school competes in the Suburban East Conference of the Minnesota State High School League Forest Lake High School was named one of the top 1,500 high schools in the country by Newsweek Magazine in 2013.Police Department ProtestOn May 9th, 2017, Forest Lake made history when demonstrating a walk-out protest.
This was due to the city council on May 8th voting to disband from the Forest Lake Police Department.
Students from Forest Lake Area Highschool, Century Junior High and Southwest Junior High walked out of their classes to protest at the city hall at 1:15 pm.
