Our Church History.
The Forest City Community Church was formed in 1957.
That sounds quite young for a church, but the original structure was built in 1892 and was originally a Methodist Church.
One block east is the other part of our history, the Baptist Church building, which was constructed in 1910.
It was through the friendly cooperation of the Methodist and Baptist church members that they became a Federated Church, holding services in each building for six months of the year.
The late Joseph Hobbs was the minister to this congregation.
Under his leadership the Federated Church voted unanimously to form a community church having no denominational ties..
