Through these groups we strive to challenge our members to participate in daily Bible study, reach out to people who are not involved in Bible study, develop a warm fellowship in all our classes and departments, and provide opportunities for members to participate in ministry to others. Intentional relationships with a small group of people can be powerful when praying together, studying the Bible together, and sharing life together. If you are interested in opening your home to lead a group, feel free to contact us.. . Awana. . The Awana program at First Baptist Church is for children 3 years of age through the 6th grade. Three segments provide start-to-finish adventure in every meeting. Each segment has its own purpose, but all of them are FUN.. Game Time – Individual and team competition takes place through circle games exclusive to Awana and playground favorites. Every kid gets involved every night and has a chance to unleash his or her energy.. Handbook Time – Kids work one-on-one with a trained leader to complete assignments in the curriculum materials. Awana emphasizes memorization and understanding of key Bible verses that show how to know God and walk with Him. A series of awards and trophies reward achievements at every level as kids progress.. Council Time – Everyone gathers together for singing, announcements, award distribution, and most importantly, a practical Bible message.. The children will be divided into six clubs:. Cubbies. 3 & 4 year old Boys and Girls. (Preschool Department). ENROLLED IN KINDERGARTEN BY FALL 2012. Sparks. K, 1st & 2nd grade Boys and Girls. (West Annex – Room 117). Pals. 3rd & 4th grade Boys. Awana teaches children in kindergarten through sixth grade about Baptist missions. Kindergarten through second grade children are Sparks and third through sixth grade children are T&T (Truth and Training). They meet every Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. They read stories, do activities, and play games that help them learn about missionaries. They also participate in mission projects.. .
