Adam Mickiewicz University (AMU) in Poznań is offering a special area of study: Polish Studies for International Students. This is a specialization for a bachelor’s degree (BA), requires three years, and classes are held at Collegium Polonicum in Słubice, directly at the Polish-German border, in a beautiful, modern building overlooking the Oder River. The instructors are from the AMU’s Institute of Polish Philology – one of the top Polish Studies departments in the country. Słubice, together with Frankfurt just across the river, function as a single city, known as Słubfurt. Located on the German side is a second institute of higher learning, the Viadrina European University, with which our Collegium Polonicum has a close relationship of academic cooperation and partnership. Our students, who come to us from various countries and cities, often from great distances, are able to find here a unique, multicultural and multilingual environment. Thus we not only strive to offer interesting and advantageous courses, but also provide help for students confronted with the various challenges of daily life away from their own homes. .
