Devenu musicien confirmé dans le genre Gnaoui, il affectionne d’abord le Gambri avant de s’intéresser à un autre instrument à cordes : la basse. Il joue avec plusieurs groupes marocains de fusion, notamment «Mayara Band» formé en 2006. Mayara remporte en 2007 le premier prix du concours Génération Mawazine. S’en suivra en 2008 le premier prix du Tremplin L’Boulvard. En 2012, la carrière de Farid Ghannam prend un nouveau tournant avec sa participation à la première édition libanaise de « The Voice ». Il évolue dans l’équipe de Sherinne Abdelwahab. Celui qui sera surnommé « Faraoula » arrive jusqu’en finale et atteint des millions de vues sur Youtube. . ولد فريد غنام في أغادير جنوب المغرب، حيث ترعع في وسط فني بامتيار، فوالدته عازفة على آلة البيانو،و والده عازف على آلة الأكورديون، وخاله قارع طبول. نشأ بين ألحان والدته وإيقاعات خاله، الذي لعب مع أكثر الفنانين شهرة في زمنه بمدينة اكادير.. . تعرف فريد على موسيقى كناوة عندما كان يافعا، وازداد تعلقه بآلة الكنبري (وهي آلة تقليدية لموسيقى كناوة) و أصبحت آلته الموسيقية المفضلة، و صار يعد من الأوائل الذين عزفوا على الكنبري الكهربائي. تعززت علاقته بالآلات الوثرية أكثر عندما اكتشف القيثارة، وآلة القيثار الجهير(الباص)، فأصبحت هذه الأخرة مصدر شغف بالنسبة إليه و قرر أن يجعلها من الآلات الرئيسة في مسيرته الإبداعية. اشترك فريد غنام كعازف على آلة القيثار الجهير في العديد من الأعمال الفنية رفقة فنانين مرموقين كسعيد موسكير و حميد القصري.. في 18 من عمره، وصل فريد إلى الدار البيضاء كعازف محترف في النوع الكناوي وانضم في أقل من سنة إلى فرقتين موسيقيتين، يتعلق الأمر بفرقة “كاوا كليك” التي التحق بها كعازف على القيثار الجهير، و فرقة “كناوة فيزيون” سنة 2005في سنة 2006، أسس فريد غنام، والذي بدأ آنذاك يشق طريقه نحو الشهرة كعازف محترف، فرقة مايارا باند، التي تعتبر من أهم فرق موسيقى الفيوجن بالمغرب، تستمد هذه الفرقة جذورها من موسيقى كناوة، لاكنها أيضا تعنى بأنواع موسيقية أخرى مختلفة، كالفانك، والسكا و الريكي.. . في الفترة مابين 2006 و 2012 أصبح فريد يعرف أكثر تحت اسم “فريد مايارا”، و حقق إنجازات جد مهمة، حيث حازت فرقته على الجائزة الأولى في مسابقة “جيل موازين” سنة 2007، و كذلك جائزة ملتقى الموسيقيين الشباب “البولفار” سنة 2008.. . في السنة نفسها، أصدرت الفرقة “حالي كناوي” وهي أول أغنية لها، والتي لاقت استحساناً بالغاً، وتم تصوير فيديوكليب لها أنتجته الشركة الوطنية للإذاعة و التلفزة تحت الرعاية السامية لصاحب الجلالة الملك محمد السادس، وبدأ عرضه على القنوات الوطنية ابتداء اً من سنة 2009. في سنة 2011 أصدرت فرقة مايارا باند ألبومها الأول “دربالة”.. . وفي الوقت نفسه، أجرى فريد غنام عدة إقامات فنية في المغرب وبالخارج (اسبانيا، هولندا)، فضلاً عن تجربة أخرى في أيرلندا في عام 2009.. . أجرى فريد واحدة من أهم تجاربه بشكل منفرد عندما عزف آلتي البيس و الكمبري و أدى الغناء الكناوي في أغنية “تلاح حبيبي تلاح” للفنانة اللبنانية ميريام فارس.. . في عام 2012 ينجح فريد غنام في تجارب الآداء في الموسم الأول للبرنامج التلفزيوني “ذا ڤويس” في نسخته العربية، حيث مكنت مشاركته هذه، جمهوره من التعرف عليه في مظاهر إبداعية أخرى.. . بعد مرحلة الاستماع، واجهت المدربين مسألة الاختيار، و انتهت بأن قرر فريد الإنضمام لفريق الفنانة المصرية شرين عبد الوهاب، وأحرز إلى جانبها عدد مشاهدات يفوق 40000000 على اليوتوب، حيث غنى أصنافاً موسيقية مختلفة خلال مدة البرنامج.
