ESOGÜ Tiyatro Topluluğu, 1998 yılında Eskişehir Osmangazi Üniversitesi Rektörlüğü SKS Daire Başkanlığı yönetiminde öğrenci sosyal etkinlikleri topluluğu olarak kuruldu.
İki yıl süren yoğun eğitim süreci sonrasında 2000 yılında Haldun Taner’in kaleminden Prof.Dr.Feridun Akyürek yönetmenliğinde ilk oyunu Eşeğin Gölgesi ile ESOGÜTT’nun sahne serüveni başladı..

Üniversite tiyatrosu olmayı benimseyen ESOGÜTT öğrenciler tarafından yönetilen ve yürütülen bir öğrenci topluluğudur.
Eskişehir Osmangazi Üniversitesi çatısı altında, Eskişehir Osmangazi Üniversitesi'nin dinamizmi ve felsefesi ışığında, üyelerine kişisel gelişim fırsatı tanımak üzere, Eskişehir Osmangazi Üniversitesi Öğrencilerine ve tiyatroyla bağı olan ya da bir bağ kurmak isteyen herkesin görev alabileceği ve izlenebileceği bir öğrenci topluluğudur.
Bu amaçla : ESOGÜTT'ün amacı sadece her yıl bir oyun çıkartmak değil, yapılan tüm çalışma ve aktivitelerle bireylerin kişisel gelişimlerini ve bu yolla topluluğun kolektif gelişimini birikimli olarak sağlamak ve üyelerini hayata hazırlamaktır..
