Detailed description is EDUCAÇÃO A Escola Estadual Eduardo Ribeiro iniciou suas atividades com apenas uma turma na Escola Estadual Santo Antônio, em março de 1980, com a denominação de Pré-Escolar Eduardo Ribeiro, criada através do Decreto nº 6.998/83 de 07/02/1983.

A partir de 21 de junho de 1989, através do Decreto Estadual nº 12.137, a Escola passou a denominar-se Escola Estadual Eduardo Ribeiro, atendendo com a Educação Infantil e séries inicias do Ensino Fundamental que funcionaram no anexo Escola Municipal Profº Zenith Ramos.
Esta Instituição de Ensino tem como Patrono o Governador Eduardo Ribeiro que teve grande importância na esfera governamental do Estado do Amazonas.
Nasceu no Maranhão no dia 18 de setembro de 1862 e faleceu no dia 14 de outubro 1900; Era conhecido pelo apelido de “Pensador“, em decorrência de ter participado ativamente dos movimentos republicanos e ter editado o jornal O Pensador, no Maranhão.
Governou o Amazonas no período de 23 de julho de 1892 a 23 de julho 1896.
Durante sua gestão fez inúmeras obras como por exemplo: o Teatro Amazonas, Reservatório do Mocó, a Ponte de Ferro da Sete de Setembro, o Palácio da Justiça, dentre outras, transformando Manaus na conhecida “Paris dos Trópicos”.
