Çok kısa bir süre Kanal 6’da çalıştı. 1997 Ağustos’un da Star TV’ye transfer oldu. Star TV’de Şampiyonlar Ligi maçlarının anlatımı, sunumu, Telegol, Futbolig programlarının yapımcılığı-sunuculuğunu gerçekleştirdi. 2001’de İtalya’da Fatih Terim ve Türk futbolcularının takibi için bir süre Milano’da özel bir haber ajansı adına çalıştı. 2002’de Star TV’ye geri döndü.. . Ertem, ‘spor’un içinde ama gelecekten çok, geçmişe meraklı, önüne bakarak yaşamayı seven bir Tarihçi aynı zamanda.. . Amatör yüzücü ve bisiklete binmeyi çok seviyor. Futbolu sahada oynamaktan çok sanal alemde oynamayı tercih ediyor.. . Evli ve Ömer ve Kerim adında 2 erkek ve Fulya adında 1 kız çocuğu babası.
