SA is governed by the Student Association Executive Council consisting of 11 campus-wide elected students. Additionally, the Vice President of Enrollment Management, Dean of Student Life, and a Faculty Representative oversee all SA business.. . The Student Senate oversees officially recognized clubs and organizations, recognizes new clubs, and brings forward student concerns. Each recognized student organization and those seeking recognition must elect a senator to attend weekly Senate sessions. . Senate provides Elmira College students with a voice by allowing students to bring concerns and legislation to Senate in order to make positive changes to the campus community. As members of the legislative branch, Senators help make important decisions. . Senators are important liaisons between the student body and the student government, and their positions are vital in making campus decisions . . Judicial Board interprets and upholds the rules and regulations of the SA Constitution and the EC Student Handbook. Judicial Board deliberates on student conduct cases weekly, and sanctions students who violate College policy. Leadership and unbiased decision making skills are crucial for members. Elected student members include the Chief Justice and the Associate Chief Justice. The current advisor is the Dean of Student Life.. . Finance Board oversees club funding. The board creates, reviews, allocates, approves, and monitors student and club budgets and fi-nancial requests (i.e., conference funding, socials, capital equip¬ment purchases, and special event funds). They are actively advised by the Comptroller, Assistant Comptroller, Bursar, and the Dean of Student Life.. . Student Activities Board (SAB) is the premier programming board on campus! SAB researches, presents, and votes on student activities and movies each weekend of each term ranging from comedians, bands, variety show, game shows, and free off-campus Travel events. Their signature events include an annual start of the year Kick Off Dance Party, Casino Night, and May Days weekend which includes a theme dance and campus-wide Carnival with giant inflatable games, carnival rides, contests, slip-n-slides, and more prizes than you can imagine! SAB is always, always looking for new ideas, and our meetings are always open to new members, so come and tell us what you think because SAB is where the party’s at! The President and Vice President are elected campus-wide, while individual chairs are selected by the Presi¬dent, Vice President, and advisors based on an applica¬tion and interview process. . .
