Se sitúa ideológicamente en la Izquierda nacionalista, definiéndose como neodesarrollista y humanista cristiano), fue Secretario de la Gobernación de Zamora Chinchipe (1983-2006), Asambleísta Constituyente de la provincia de Zamora Chinchipe (2007-2008), Miembro de la Comisión Legislativa y Vicepresidente de la Comisión de Desarrollo Económico y Producción (2008-2009), Director Provincial del Seguro Social en la provincia de Zamora Chinchipe enero-julio 2010, Subsecretario Regional de Minas Sur Zona 7 (julio 2010- diciembre 2012).. . El 19 de diciembre del 2012, de acuerdo a lo señalado en la Ley del Fondo para el Ecodesarrollo Regional Amazónico y su Reglamento se designa como Secretario Ejecutivo del ECORAE al Doctor Jorge Eduardo Calvas.
