Detailed description is EarthSong Community School aims to help children grow in body, mind and spirit, challenging them to grow intellectually, socially, and personally. EarthSong Community School was created in 2011 to provide the families of Rockbridge County an alternative in high quality early childhood education. Our campus houses both a preschool and an elementary program. Our students are between the ages of 2.5-6 in the preschool, and 6 -12 in the elementary program. Our teachers are trained in the Montessori approach to education and our learning environments are rich with Montessori learning materials. We strive to help each child grow in body, mind and spirit challenging them to grow intellectually, socially, and personally. Our classrooms offer each student the opportunity to discover and celebrate their personal strengths, while at the same time recognizing and developing the skills to deal with their personal challenges, all under the loving guidance of our teaching staff. We focus on helping children recognize and take responsibility for their choices and provide an abundance of opportunities to connect with and embrace the natural world. We are located in beautiful Lexington, Virginia. We do our best to take full advantage of the extraordinary learning opportunities the local community offers through its two colleges, rich artist community, abundant forests, parks and rivers, and extensive local history.
