Detailed description is EAA 723 is the Camarillo, CA, chapter of EAA (www.EAA.org), a worldwide group of pilots, aviation enthusiasts, and aircraft builders. - www.EAA723.org EAA Chapter 723 is your local Camarillo chapter of EAA, a worldwide organization of pilots, aviation enthusiasts, and aircraft builders. We have about 250 local members. . . We are based in two modest hangars at the Camarillo airport. In those hangars we provide support for those interested in aviation, and aid in helping people achieve their dreams of flight. Our monthly meetings are open to all and include interesting speakers on all aspects of aviation from flight testing the F-35 to propeller design.. . . On the first Saturday of every month, our pilots fan the interest of young people in aviation by giving free airplane rides to more than 300 youth per year through the EAA "Young Eagles" program. Over 4000 youngsters have been flown to date by Chapter 723.. . We organize "Fly-By's" at the request of various civic organizations such as Ronald Regan Library events, and Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza events. We also perform for funerals at the request of family members.. . Because we have a soft spot in our hearts for the kids at Casa Pacifica, we have an annual Christmas toy drive, and also have hosted visits to the airport for the children.. . Recently, with the help of corporate donors, we have begun a scholarship program and have been able to give scholarships to nineteen (19) Ventura County youngsters for technical education totaling $35000.00. And yes, we are a charitable organization, a 501(c)(3), so your donation is tax deductible. . .
