Detailed description is The Duquesne Saxophone Studio is led by Professor of Saxophone and Chair of Woodwinds James Houlik and Adjunct Professor Eric Lauver Saxophone majors at Duquesne University engage in a variety of music performance activities. Large ensemble performance opportunities include the award-winning Duquesne University Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble, and Jazz Workshop. All saxophone students also participate in a saxophone chamber group, coached weekly by one of our saxophone professors.. . A number of students from the studio have become successful performers, educators, conductors, therapists, and recording studio owners.. . Supplemental lessons are available in jazz saxophone, with Mike Tomaro, Director of Jazz Studies.
