Detailed description is Dunford Bridge is a remote hamlet in the civil parish of Dunford, lying northwest of Sheffield in South Yorkshire, England, 1.3mi from the border with West Yorkshire and 2.3mi from the border with Derbyshire.
It lies in the Peak District, 5mi west of Penistone and 5mi south of Holmfirth, within the Metropolitan Borough of Barnsley.
Before the Local Government Act 1972 the area covered by South Yorkshire was part of the West Riding of Yorkshire.The settlement, consisting of a few houses, lies beneath the Winscar Reservoir.
