Detailed description is Dodge City High School is a fully accredited high school located in the northwest area of Dodge City, Kansas, United States, serving students in grades 9-12.
The school is operated by Dodge City Public Schools.
The current principal is Jacque Feist.
Dodge City High School is the only high school located within the city limits of Dodge City.Dodge City is a member of the Kansas State High School Activities Association and offers a variety of sports programs.
Athletic teams compete in the 6A division and are known as the "Red Demons".
Extracurricular activities are also offered in the form of performing arts, school publications, and clubs.HistoryDodge City High School was established in the early 1900s in order to help educate the increasing population of Dodge City.
Shortly after its inception, the Red Demon was selected as the official school mascot.
This was due to the nickname of D-Men for the Dodge men's teams.Significant changesDuring the 1990s, student enrollment continued to increase and it soon became evident that the enrollment had outgrown the facilities of the high school.
