Detailed description is the Design Thinking Initiative is a pilot program launched in 2015 at Smith that incorporates a human-centered and inclusive approach to Design Practice! The Design Thinking Initiative is a resource at Smith College where students can learn to implement and engage with human centered and inclusive design practices. We offer both semester long courses as well as workshops, lectures, and design challenges throughout the school year. Our classroom space is open for reservation to any student or faculty member who may want a place to brainstorm or host an event or activity. We also have a prototyping studio open to Smithies which includes a 3D Printer, laser cutter, vinyl cutter, and a variety of hand tools. Come and check us out!
