In 1972, Gerald Day bought the property where he would build his Heber Valley grocery store.
A year later, in 1973, the building was constructed and Gerald opened up for business with his four teenage sons: Carl, Alan, Byron, and Steven.
The brothers were put to work in the original Day’s Market and learned how to work well together as a team.
As their father opened other Day’s Market locations in the area, the brothers continued to help with daily operations, learning more about the business, and the communities that supported each location.

As the nineties came to a close, Gerald began to consider retirement and the Day brothers dreamed of buying the business and making their own way in the business world that their father had developed for them.
