Darüşşafaka Cemiyeti, 1863 yılından bu yana “eğitimde fırsat eşitliği” misyonuyla varlığını sürdürüyor. Cemiyet, annesi veya babası hayatta olmayan, maddi olanakları yetersiz, yetenekli ve başarılı çocuklarımızı dokuz yaşındayken ailelerinden emanet alıyor. Onlara uluslararası standartlarda eğitim olanağı sunuyor ve düşünen, araştıran, sorgulayan, ülkesine, çevresine, ailesine karşı sorumlu aydın bireyler olarak hayata atılmalarını sağlıyor. . . Bugün ülkemizin dört bir yanından, sınavla seçilen 900’ü aşkın çocuk, Darüşşafaka Eğitim Kurumları’nda, ilköğretim dördüncü sınıftan liseyi bitirinceye kadar 10 yıl süresince tam burslu, yatılı ve İngilizce eğitim görüyor. 7 gün 24 saatini Darüşşafaka’da geçiren çocuklarımız, iyi eğitimin yanı sıra sosyal ve kültürel açıdan da zengin bireyler olarak yetişiyor. Cemiyet, kendisine emanet edilen çocuklarımızın eğitim hayatlarını maddi kaygıdan uzak sürdürmeleri için her ay cep harçlığı veriyor. 11. ve 12. sınıfta üniversite sınavına hazırlanmaları için dershaneye gönderiyor ve üniversiteyi kazandıklarında da burs desteğini sürdürüyor. . . Cemiyet, Darüşşafaka Eğitim Kurumları’nda çocuklarımıza sağladığı tüm olanakları, kişi, kurum ve kuruluşlardan elde ettiği bağışlarla gerçekleştiriyor.
