Campus Police Authority and Jurisdiction: .
Public Safety Officers have complete (full) police authority just as any state police officer to apprehend and arrest anyone involved in illegal acts on and adjacent to the Dalton State College Campus.
If minor offenses involving college policies or rules and regulations are committed by a student, Public Safety Officer (along with criminal charges) may also refer the individual to the Vice President of Student Affairs.
Major offenses are reported to the local police (Dalton Police Department, Whitfield County Sheriff's Office, Georgia State Patrol and/or Georgia Bureau of Investigation) and joint investigations are conducted as needed..

Public Safety will report all crimes reported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
