Things to Know Before You Use NightRide:.

• NightRide operates anywhere in Boulder City limits.
• NightRide is an on demand service, no rides can be scheduled in advance..
• Drivers will pick up and drop off at exact locations, so know the address to your pick up and drop off locations..
• For efficiency purposes, drivers will only wait THREE minutes for rides of FOUR or more people, and FIVE minutes for rides of THREE people or less..
• PLEASE call back if you need to change any information regarding your ride, ESPECIALLY if you have to cancel your ride.
• CU NightRide reserves the right to cancel the ride of anyone who is not acting in a safe and appropriate manor.

CU NightRide provides service to anywhere within Boulder city boundaries including the CU-Boulder campus.

CU NightRide uses an app called TapRide, which can be downloaded and accessed using the client's Identikey credentials to request a ride.
This provides a current view of both the driver's location and the Estimated Time to Arrival (ETA).
If you do not have a device that is app accessible, a client can schedule a ride over the phone at 303-492-7233..

All clients must go to the pickup location of the ride when they are notified either through the dispatcher or through the app that the vehicle is approaching.

NightRide is an on-demand service, therefore rides are serviced and scheduled solely on when the ride was requested..

CU NightRide, originally called NightRide/NightWalk, was created in 1985 by the Volunteer Clearing House in an effort to raise safety awareness.
However, at the end of 1996-1997 school year, the program was almost canceled due to lack of interest and organization.
The 1997-1998 school year was a last chance effort for the program.
Following the murder of Susannah Chase (a student at the University of Colorado) in December 1997, the program's utilization increased dramatically.
The Program's budget was increased for the 1998-1999 school year allowing the program to expand its service by adding paid staff, leasing a second vehicle, and moving to the UMC.
Since that time the program has expanded to become a very important part of the CU community..

In 2005 the program changed its name to CU NightRide, since the "walk element" of the program had been replaced by vehicles serving both on and off campus areas.
The program currently operates seven vehicles with one dispatcher working every night to respond to client calls in the quickest manner possible.
