Reese Lasher is the owner of Crest Mountain Dinner Theater. He purchased the corporate resort 10 years ago. The facilities at Crest Mountain were formerly Ben Lippen School, which was a private school for missionary students. The property overlooking downtown Asheville and Biltmore Estate with breathtaking views, has an interesting history. Lasher hopes to expand on that legacy by providing family-friendly entertainment in Asheville.. . Quoted in The Mountaineer's The Guide newspaper, “I’m new to this show biz thing but I’m pretty excited about it,” Lasher said. “We want to offer an evening of entertainment for the family. This is totally different than the downtown bar scene.”. . While Crest Mountain is only a few shows into its first season, going forward, there will be a packed schedule! Reese said a lot of work had to be done to the indoor, pavilion-like building to make it more ideal for a theater setting. And now.....that setting is perfect! The building is used throughout the year as a wedding venue. . . The venue has glass windows all the way around for a 360-view or outside and beautiful lighting is hung from the vaulted ceilings as well as through the landscape surrounding this beautiful building!. . “We wanted to bring the outside indoors,” Lasher said.
