El 4 de Octubre de 1997 se inauguró en la Capital del Meta, la Biblioteca Pública Germán Arciniegas, bajo la dirección de CORCUMVI Corporación Cultural Municipal de Villavicencio, complejo cultural donde se han convocado y reunido las distintas expresiones culturales y de la plástica, no sólo en el ámbito local sino también nacional e internacional.. . La sede, construida con esfuerzo, es por si misma un referente cultural, arquitectónico y urbanístico de la región, fruto del tesón del gobierno municipal y de un grupo de personas cuya vocación no es otra que la de propender por el desarrollo cultural de la Orinoquía y por ende, de Colombia.. . Es así, que la dinámica cultural que desde 1997 irradia la Biblioteca Germán Arciniegas, ha contribuido a fortalecer los vínculos fraternos de la población y con ello los de la Nación, por cuanto el aprovechamiento de este logro cultural, arquitectónico y tecnológico le otorgó plena razón de ser y confianza a la voluntad superadora de obstáculos que siempre han caracterizado a los llaneros.
