O Conservatório Musical João Baptista Julião foi fundado em 15 de novembro de 1953 pelos professores: Yolanda Rigonelli, Alda Murback Duarte, Beatriz de Lima (vindas especialmente de São Paulo) e Flavio Gagliardi.
A fundação contou com a presença de diversas autoridades da época, inclusive sendo transmitida ao vivo pela rádio local.

E desde esta data, vem se dedicando ao ensino da música clássica e popular.
O Conservatório se tornou ao longo dos seus 63 anos em um referencial da música para Sorocaba e Região, tendo formado mais de 600 alunos em diversos instrumentos.
Formou inúmeros músicos de destaque no cenário musical em âmbito nacional e até internacional..
Atualmente sob supervisão da profª Ilza Maria Soares, o Conservatório possui um capacitado corpo docente totalmente dedicado para ensinar os mais diversos instrumentos para todas as idades.
