Detailed description is A non-profit organization, CSMA is solely dedicated to the education of music and the arts to its neighborhood and community.
Founded in 1956 by Dr.
Peter LaManna and Werner Von Trapp, the community school operated from several different locations at a time with the sole goal of inspiring an increased interest in music and the arts by children of all races and backgrounds.
In 1989, the school found a permanent home at 345 Douglass Street in Reading, PA, and a business satellite office was found at the Goggleworks in 2005.
In 2010, the Board of Directors appointed Mr.
Cedric Elmer as the Managing Director; he also served as the Director of the school for 38 years until 2002 at the 345 Douglass address.
