Atraída desde el principio por las visiones de su entorno, su temática comprendía el paisaje urbano y el paisaje rural desde una visión diríase traslúcida, porque no tenía nada de artificioso, y sí mucho de personal. Ahora son los árboles los que la atraen: los que constituyen el objeto de su observación, con la óptica de la artista, para llevarlos al lienzo con su propio y admirable estilo. (...). Sus árboles, tan cercanos e íntimos, son concebidos en la circunstancia personal de la artista. En este contexto, Catalina pinta asuntos sencillos, apacibles, armónicamente interpretados de la realidad circundante.
