Su duración aproximada es de cuatro años (400 créditos) y otorga el grado académico de Licenciado en: Artes y Humanidades o Ciencias Sociales o Ciencias Naturales y Matemáticas.

La malla se compone de cursos mínimos, una Concentración Mayor o Major (de 10 a 15 cursos) y una Menor o Minor (5 cursos).

Esto es lo mínimo que se exige, pero es posible hacer más combinaciones, como por ejemplo: doble Majors o un Major y dos Minors..
Al egresar la Licenciatura habilita tanto para la postulación a programas de postgrado, como para la obtención de un Título Profesional UC, de acuerdo a los requisitos establecidos para ello.
Además, es posible el traspaso a otra carrera UC habiendo cursado al menos 2 años de estudio y completando 200 créditos según los cursos específicos para cada carrera.
