Detailed description is The Professional Pilot Program at Cochise College is determined to train students to demonstrate professional piloting skills, attitudes, and behaviors. Our aviation program is well-respected and widely recognized throughout the industry. In more than 40 years of aviation training, we have placed our graduates with all the major commercial airlines, the Federal Aviation Administration, the U.S. Border Patrol and U.S. Customs, air freight services and corporate aviation companies.. . Our focus extends beyond basic maneuver or procedural skills; we strive to train students to mastery at a correlative level. This is accomplished by the use of organized lessons that foster the building block systems of information acquisition; safety and risk management skills that will extend beyond the level required to just pass an FAA check ride.. . The achievement of obtaining a pilot certificate is the result of diligent and thoughtful preparation, practice, and study. Flight training provides opportunities for personal development, enhanced self-esteem, exploration, and experimentation. The cockpit of an airplane is a place where a person learns to think, rely on him or herself, develop strengths, and overcome weakness. Flight training teaches discipline.
