At 17, Pastor Jerry felt called to ministry while attending his family church in Florida.
From there, he pursued a BA in religion from Southeastern Bible College in Lakeland, Florida before moving to Portland, Oregon.
In Portland he met and married Pastor Tami who had earned a BA in Physical Education..

Together they served 20 years at City Bible Temple (now City Bible Church) before moving to help plant The City Church, Seattle.
