Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOP&S) was established to help community college students from economically and educationally disadvantaged backgrounds succeed in either transferring to a four-year institution or finding career employment in their field of training.
At Citrus College, the EOP&S Program has one purpose in mind: to help our students succeed in successfully completing their educational goals.
The EOP&S program promotes educational success through academic counseling and a variety of unique support services.

The Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE) program was established to help EOP&S students who are single parents, with children under the age of 14 and are current TANF/CalWORKs participants.
The CARE program is designed to help break the welfare cycle by offering additional support to students who want to receive college-level career training or complete specific educational programs.

California Work Opportunity and Responsibility for Kids (CalWORKs) is the state's welfare-to-work program for families with children.
The Citrus College CalWORKs Program works in collaboration with the Department of Public Social Services to assist students with education, training and job skills.
Citrus College provides short-term training programs to help CalWORKs students enhance their skills and/or develop new skills in order to find employment as they transition off of cash aid to become self-sufficient.
Additionally, CalWORKs students receive assistance with completion of county paperwork, child care, work-study job placement and referrals to community resources.
