Pioneira desde sua criação, a enfocar a preservação e o cinema como patrimônio, a CineOP chega a sua 10ª edição, de 17 a 22 de junho de 2015, maior e mais convicta do seu papel - ser instrumento de reflexão e luta pela salvaguarda do patrimônio audiovisual brasileiro em diálogo com a educação.
O patrimônio cultural das imagens é um dos eixos mais importantes da memória e identidade sociocultural de um País – ação estratégica e fundamental para o desenvolvimento da nação, portanto, deve integrar a vida social e política do Brasil, que reúne expressivo patrimônio audiovisual, representativo de sua cultura, história, arte e manifestações da sociedade..

Estrutura sua programação em três temáticas de atuação: preservação, história e educação.
Apresenta-se como importante foco irradiador da cultura com a oferta de uma programação abrangente e gratuita que inclui homenagens a personalidades do audiovisual, exibições de mais de 50 filmes brasileiros em pré-estreias e retrospectivas, oficinas, debates, Seminário, exposições, lançamento de livros, atrações artísticas que ocupam três espaços Ouro Preto: Cine Vila Rica (plateia de 700 lugares), Centro de Convenções (sede do evento, cine-teatro, auditórios, galpão cine bar show, ações de formação e reflexão) e Praça Tiradentes que é a praça principal da cidade recebe a instalação do Cine-Praça..
