En 1189, le seigneur d'Amfreville était Richard de Reviers, seigneur de Vernon et de Néhou. Il est le fondateur de l'abbaye de Montebourg toute proche. En 1226, « Amfrveille » appartenait à Guillaume de Reviers. Elle tomba dans les mains de la famille Avenel, qui possédait également la baronnie des Biards, en Avranchin : Amfreville et les Biards restèrent dans cette famille jusqu'en 1503.Amfreville entra ensuite dans le patrimoine de la famille de Tardes, puis dans celle de lafamille du Poërier de Portbail, (seigneurs du Portbail), et enfin des Davy, originaires de la région de Périers.
