Till the year 2000, there was no organized Christian Community in Thirumullaivoyal.
Some of the Catholics who were residing in this place attended the Church in St.Joseph Parish at Ambattur.
With the support of the Archdiocese of Madras-Mylapore, a few families of Thirumullaivoyal and some interested parishioners of Ambattur Parish organized funds and purchased nearly 5 grounds of land.
Now it consist of nine full grounds.

Then Auxiliary Bishop of Madras-Mylapore, Rt.Rev.Dr.Lawrence Pius DD laid the foundation stone for further construction.

Chinnappa SDB named this new parish as Church of the Holy Eucharist in commemoration of the ‘Year of the Holy Eucharist’ which concluded in a grand celebration at Besant Nagar Shrine on 16th October 2005.
