Detailed description is CHAMPS is an After School Enrichment program for Winchester School Students in grades K-6. CHAMPS works with community partners to provide after school enrichment activities at a variety of locations. These locations include, Hinsdale, Batcheller & Pearson Schools, Northwest CT YMCA, Beardsley Memorial Library and Winsted Area Child Care Center, Inc. Children are given the opportunity to select a group of activities that change every eight weeks. Activities range from art & science, Lego club, swimming lessons, cooking, computer class and much, much more! For students in grades 5 & 6, specialized clubs are held at Pearson Middle School, and run in 5-8 week cycles. CHAMPS strives to move beyond child care to create an enrichment environment that supports students academic and social development.
