Sempre me inquietou visitar bibliotecas particulares de escritores e ali me deparar com um acervo mudo, que não se comunica senão com seu detentor.
Ao longo dos anos fui tratando de doar livros a pequenas bibliotecas, porém uma ideia maior me perseguia, a de concentrar parte significativa de meu acervo em um local único, criando condições de pesquisa e deleite, um ponto a partir do qual pudéssemos ir além, planejando palestras e outros eventos que enriqueçam o conhecimento de quem se mostrar interessado.
