We offer classes for youth and adults of all ages ranging from basic 72 hour wilderness survival to long-term self reliance. We also facilitate skill based weekend workshops, summer camps, plant medicine classes, birthday parties, and more! Here at COS we believe there is something for everyone. The Cedarwood staff make sure you get the most out of your time here. . . A large part of our school focuses around the younger generation. We see over and over the positive effects of bringing youth into the outdoors. Collin Vassallo founded Cedarwood Outdoor School hoping to spark passions and introduce kids to fun, productive new hobbies. It’s in the excitement of a camper’s eye when a Pileated Woodpecker flies past, or when a child blows his very first fire to flame. It’s the faint whispers coming from the forest as kids learn what it means to be a scout, and the confidence one walks away with after a skill-based weekend. . . Problem solving, building hand-eye coordination and resourcefulness, and learning to think outside the box are only a few examples of what nature connection provides.
