On September 4, 1954 Cathedral School of St.
Jude opened its doors to the first class of students.
Day by day, the number of students grew (as well as the campus) and those young minds benefited from the teaching skills and resourcefulness of the Dominican Sisters..

In 1968 when the Diocese of St.
Petersburg was established, it was decided that St.
Jude Parish become the cathedral and St.
Jude Cathedral School was designated.
