It is the mission of the Caswell County Local Foods Council to increase consumer access to, and knowledge of, fresh and nutritious foods and to build a food economy. This provides greater food security for all in Caswell County by circulating money from local farmer food sales, creating jobs, and prosperity. . . We are currently working on various projects to meet this mission. We operate a seasonal farmers' market at two locations. The Semora market (4807 NC Hwy 57 N, Semora) runs Saturdays from 4:00 - 6:30 p.m. through September 2, 2017. The Yanceyville market (2246 NC Hwy 86 N, Yanceyville) runs Thursdays from 4:00 - 6:30 p.m. through August 31, 2017. Soup's On 2nd Wednesday is a free, monthly soup lunch hosted in the Cooperative Extension kitchen at 126 Court Square, Yanceyville. All are welcome. Finally, we have an Inspected Community Kitchen located at 14771 NC Hwy 119 N, Semora that is available to produce value-added products that can be sold throughout North Carolina.
