王宗德老師 (18年專業藝品開發設計曾任東世公司開發設計專員，美商得林公司開發部專員，歐商瑞士 燭園起步.

燭園始於 1991 外銷全盛時期，手工傳統產業一片生機蓬勃，台灣還一度還創下外匯存底第一名。燭園適逢其會參予其中，在藝術蠟燭的外銷市場上頗獲好評。之後隨著世界經濟不景氣，傳統產業首當其衝面臨嚴重打擊。 時值大陸的人工成本平均為台灣的 1/7! 多少曾經立下汗馬功勞、風光一世的廠商都禁不起環境逼關閉，更何況小小的燭園...

廠商外移的外移，關門的關門，頓時企業的「出走」變成了一股風潮。 業界一片冷清、訂單消失殆盡，因此燭園也只能無奈的遷移大陸，和友人共同在大陸設廠。那時他廠員工最少 500 人，我們則約 180 人，很快的就帶動了當地的經濟發展與地方建設，小鎮快速的熱絡了起來。即使被當地長官待為上賓，但不管成就如何，總是身在異鄉 … 待了幾年後終於心生歸意 ..
故鄉的月亮還是比較圓啊 !.

回到台灣自己成長的小村莊，見村中因青年外出工作，僅剩老人和小孩，更顯冷冷清清。適逢 95 年政府推行社區總體營造「一鄉鎮一特色」，燭園在長官及學者的指導之下，著手轉型，開啟文化產業的路線。設計課程讓國人認識蠟燭、體驗燭藝之美。 此後開發出「藝術蠟燭 DIY 」 ..
等種種寓教於樂的教學，廣受學界與一般民眾喜愛，就此開啟燭藝文化推廣的一條路。 心繫台灣，配合多元教育推廣，燭園終於走出自己的一條路。今後還望能和廣大的民眾共勉，持續不斷的進步!.
