Detailed description is Camp Summit East is a specialized week long camp for gifted and 2e children and teens ages 9-15 located in the beautiful Blue Ridges Mountains, NC.
Well, it's finally happened.
Camp Summit, a specialized week long camp for gifted and 2e children, is expanding to a second site on the East Coast.
More specifically, to a new location at Lutherock in the Blue Ridge Mountains on the south slopes of Sugar Mountain.

For those unfamiliar with Camp Summit, the camp is a week long sleep away camp designed specifically for gifted students ages 9-15.
Originally located in the Marin Headlands just north of the Golden Gate Bridge on the California coast, the camp features knowledgeable staff, unique activities, incredible bonding amongst gifted and 2e children who, for the most part, struggle to make lasting social connections, and beautiful settings.

Dungeons and Dragons, LARP (Live Action Role Play), Visual & Creative Arts, Rube Goldberg Machines, Environmental Ecology, accompanied by other more traditional camp activities such as hikes, beach adventures, capture the flag, and other games characterize the numerous activities offered by Camp Summit and make it the most exciting week of the year for the majority of our campers (check out www.campsummitforthegifted.com)..

Now, as the camp moves into its seventh year of operation, we are thrilled to announce the opening of Camp Summit East to serve the needs of gifted kids on the eastern seaboard the week of August 7-13.
Camp Summit East will feature, alongside the usual activities, new adventures such as rock climbing, spelunking, Night Hikes featuring Astronomy, ropes courses, and much more within the spectacular setting of North Carolina's Blue Ridge Mountains.
In addition, Camp Summit East will feature a new offering for parents: a mini two day conference focused on the needs of gifted/2e children with internationally recognized speakers, workshops, and an evening social at the conclusion of camp (Sat/Sun Aug.
13-14).
