I have experience working with individuals, couples, families, and adolescents to address the difficult challenges that often leave us feeling hopeless and stuck. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss how counseling can help you or your family.. . I am a Nationally Certified Counselor and hold a Masters degree with a concentration in Marriage and Family Counseling from the University of Montevallo. I also hold a Masters degree in Education with an emphasis in secondary social sciences from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I have worked as a high school teacher in Jefferson and Shelby counties and most recently at Oak Mountain High School. I am passionate about helping individuals and families gain a sense of power and control over their lives.. . I have experience working with adults, adolescents, and families with many issues including: marital problems, parent/child relationship issues, school performance, ADHD, divorce and coparenting issues, behavioral issues, time management, test anxiety, bullying, social/peer concerns with teens & tweens, teen dating issues, and teen pregnancy. Women's issues specialities include: depression, anxiety, sexual trauma and abuse, divorce, grief and loss, fertility challenges, motherhood & identity challenges, and postpartum depression.. .
